Winged Wellness App Design
Student ProjectProject Overview
Winged Wellness is an app concept for avian care. Bird owners needed booking, community, and a brand that felt friendly rather than clinical: one place to look after a bird and talk to other people who do the same.
The identity and the interface were designed together, so the parrot mark and the screens feel like the same product.
My Contributions
Research: Talked through owner habits and looked at adjacent pet-care apps to see where booking and community usually fall apart.
Ideation: Sketched a parrot-in-flight mark on gestalt principles, then mapped booking and forum flows.
Design: Built the UI, logo, and a lively palette so the app feels approachable on first open.
Refinement: Used testing notes to tighten the booking path and the community screens.
Outcome: A concept product where identity, booking, and community read as one system.
Design Notes
The logo is a parrot in flight, built so the negative space does some of the work. It stands for care and a bit of freedom, and it is easy to recognise in an app icon.
Colour stays bright on purpose. Booking and forums sit in the same visual language so owners are not jumping between two products.
Usability led the decisions: if a feature did not make care easier or the community closer, it did not stay.
